The Honeywell CW45 barcode scanner is a great option for businesses seeking a durable and efficient scanning solution. With its impressive tough design and protection measures such as IP sealings, drop test certifications, tumble rating, electrostatic discharge rating and thermal shock protection, the scanner can withstand the most demanding working conditions.

The Honeywell CW45 scanner features a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 covered touch panel, which provides exemplary protection against impacts, scratches, drops, and overall damage. Corning Gorilla Glass is a chemically toughened glass and is considered one of the toughest and most reliable glass panels available in the market.

The CW45 scanner is independently certified to meet IP65 and IP67 moisture and particle intrusion standards.

The IP65 rating implies that the scanner is completely dustproof and can resist low-pressure water jets from any direction without damage. At the same time, the IP67 rating shows that the device is completely protected against solid objects such as dust and sand and has been tested and certified to work for at least 30 minutes when immersed underwater between 15 cm and 1 m deep.

The CW45 scanner comes with MIL-STD 810H drop test certifications, guaranteeing it can withstand accidental drops and slips without damage. The scanner is certified to withstand.

  • Multiple 1.2m (4 ft) drops to concrete at -20°C to +50°C (-4°F to +122°F)
  • Multiple 1.8m (6 ft) drops to concrete at 23°C to +50°C (73°F to +122°F)

The scanner has undergone rigorous testing and certification according to IEC 60068-2-32 to ensure it is protected from tumbles. Specifically, the CW45 scanner is guaranteed to withstand over 1000 tumbles from a height of 0.5 m (1.64 ft).

The Honeywell CW45 scanner has electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection for the device, preventing electrical shocks due to static electricity. The CW45 is rated to survive ±8 kV direct contact and ±15 kV air discharge.

The CW45 scanner is protected against thermal shock and is certified to maintain full functionality even after being subjected to sudden temperature shifts between -30°C and +70°C (-22°F to +158°F).

The Honeywell CW45 barcode scanner is also equipped with a disinfectant-ready housing, which allows for frequent cleaning without causing damage or fading to the scanner material. This is particularly useful in the healthcare sector, where scanners are regularly exposed to harsh disinfectants and cleaning materials.
