Using QA Certified Test Weights for In-House Calibration Checks

To maintain accurate and reliable measurements, it is recommended that customers perform regular verification of their weighing equipment using certified test weights. This practice allows users to identify potential calibration drift between scheduled service intervals and ensures the ongoing precision of weighing systems.

Purchasing certified test weights provides a convenient and effective means for conducting in-house calibration checks. These weights should be selected based on the scale’s maximum capacity and required resolution. All test weights supplied by Triton are traceable to national measurement standards and are issued with calibration certificates to support quality assurance and audit compliance.

Recommended Procedure:

Ensure the scale is on a level, stable surface and properly zeroed.
Place the certified test weight on the center of the weighing platform.
Record the displayed weight and compare it to the known value of the test weight.
If the deviation exceeds the allowable tolerance, remove the scale from service and arrange for recalibration.
Log all verification results for traceability and compliance purposes.

Routine use of certified test weights helps maintain measurement integrity and supports compliance with industry standards such as ISO 9001, HACCP, and GLP/GMP where applicable.
